About Andrew
Andrew Pickering graduated from San Diego State University in 2003 with a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since becoming licensed in 2006, he has provided treatment to individuals, families, and couples in a private practice setting and has experience working with adolescents, depression/anxiety, substance abuse, and mental health issues. He provides clinical supervision and consultation to Marriage and Family Therapy Associates/Interns.
Andrew has experience conducting group therapy and family psycho-education groups on an inpatient behavior health unit and has worked extensively with mental health assessment and crisis intervention.
In addition, Andrew has developed cognitive therapy based treatment programs and psycho-educational groups for families in several behavior health settings and has worked with court systems and Child Welfare Services to develop an evidence-based anger management curriculum for use with individuals within these systems.
